Activities

Wildside Getaway is about adventure and relaxation. A wide range of activities is available on the property itself and also in the vicinity...

Hunting3 big pigs

We offer guided hunting for fallow and red deer, pigs and goats on the property. We can also provide guided hunting in the nearby Tongariro National Park. We have three knowledgeable guides with more than 50 years of hunting experience between them. Suitable for seasoned hunters and beginners alike. All gear provided or bring your own. Accomodation in upmarket lodge or hunting hut.

"The hunting was great and the hosts were so kind and patient with my kids, and gave them an excellent introduction to hunting, in a very safe supervised environment. Highly recommended. We are going back again soon." Jane O'Dwyer, May 2014

The 140 hectares of forested hill country provide a tranquil and re-juvenating environment for walking. The land is accessible by numerous tracks and caters for those wanting short gentle strolls around the lodge and also for those seeking something more physically demanding. There are a significant number of walks to suit all fitness levels in the vicinity, from the famous Tongariro Crossing to shorter walks around the base of Mt Ruapehu and beautiful walks along the Whakapapa River at Owhango.
